Celebrity-approved It bags that are working harder this summer

Structured, spacious and designed for real life. Today’s most spotted celebrity luxury bags balance fashion and function.

Harper's Bazaar India

It takes one paparazzi shot for an arm candy to go on everyone’s wishlist. But chauffeur-driven celebrity style versus your 9-to-5 (or 9-to-9) hustle might not see the same practicality. Thankfully, luxury brands today are taking notes for that fashion girl who also lives life on the go. As seen on the season’s most influential dressers, it's the possession of the waitlist luxury bag that completely changes your look. Now, we are not trading the all-essential dump tote for the cutesy baguette; we are going big and in style.

Spanning time-honoured revived classics and new slouchy icons, these six designer bags have secured their place in the It bag canon, as spotted carrying by our favourite celebrities.

Louis Vuitton’s Speedy bag

The much returned staple from the 2000s, the monogrammed Louis Vuitton Speedy continues to affirm that true icons and investments never fade. Revived on the arms of Rihanna, the bag’s slightly smaller iteration with still sufficient room feels newly relevant while embracing its original letter mark and silhouette. Rihanna was seen on the go in the house’s classic brown variant, testifying to the utility of this bag.

Saint Laurent’s Mombasa bag

In 2002, under Tom Ford’s tenure at then Yves Saint Laurent, the Mombasa bag held cult status. As of 2026, the brand reimagines the icon with a renewed sense of ease, leaning into exaggerated proportions and a more relaxed, urban attitude. The result is a slouchy, oversized silhouette that feels both directional and deeply wearable. Evidenced by supermodel Bella Hadid, who styled it with an off-duty bomber leather look.

Bottega Veneta’s Cabat Tote bag

The ultimate loyalist and ambassador, Jacob Elordi, is almost always virally spotted looking chic, sharp, and effortless in his sunglasses and a Bottega bag look. Best orchestrated by his enviable rotation of bags, led by the most practical Cabat tote. Offered in four sizes, from compact mini to generously oversized, each piece is rendered in the brand’s signature intrecciato weave.

The rectangular Borsetto from Gucci made a compelling debut in the house’s Spring 2026 collection under Demna, marking a new chapter. The bag is anchored by heritage branding codes like the shiny horsebit and the unmissable green-and-red stripe. Its rapid ascent is already evident on the gram, especially with luxury style gurus like Dua Lipa, carrying the dark brown suede Borsetto.

Chanel 25 bag

With two signature pockets and a bendy, supple hobo-inspired silhouette, the Chanel 25 bag is practical and soft elegance. Popstar Dua Lipa was the official face for the Chanel 25 campaign back in 2025 and continues to be papped in all the variants, namely grained calfskin, suede, washed denim, tweed, and perforated calfskin. With gold and silver metal options, this collection seems to be the versatile answer to any look.

The perfect city bag now takes form in Versace’s Pivot line of bucket bags, which comes in a variety of suede and leather finishes and is adorned with a central Medusa Cameo leather patch and classic chain detailing. Originally launched as part of Dario Vitale’s debut Spring/Summer 2026 collection for the house, the bucket bag arrives with both hand-held and crossbody options, making it a strong contender in this season’s It-bag lineup. Among its growing celebrity fan base, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Dean, and Alex Consani have all been spotted styling the bag effortlessly with their distinct wardrobes.
