Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ all set to stream on Netflix on December 7

The Riverdale adventure is just a 100 days away!

The countdown to The Archies, one of the most-awaited series of the year from Netflix, begins today as the coming-of-age musical has finally got its release date. Mark your calendars for December 7 and book a date with Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton in the fictional hilly town of Riverdale set in the 1960s. 

Co-written by Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Ayesha Devitre, The Archies is an Indian adaptation of Archie comic book (created in 1941 by Bob Montana and John L Goldwater) and is set to explore what friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion mean to a bunch of young adults.

The movie has got everyone talking—lovers of the comic are gearing up for a nostalgic trip and movie enthusiasts have their eyes on the cast which includes the who's who of the industry. To begin with, it stars Suhana Khan, the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, who will make her debut as Veronica Lodge and Agastya Nanda, the grandson of the Amitabh Bachchan, will also debut as Archie Andrews. Another star kid, Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of actor Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, will essay the character of Betty Cooper. The film also stars Dot as Ethel Muggs, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, and Yuvraj Menda playing Dilton Doiley.
