The festive season brings with it a certain freedom to get dressed differently — and beauty is no exception. It is the time to reach for the lipstick that feels a little bolder than usual, add a flash of highlighter that catches the light, or experiment with an eye look that might feel excessive on an ordinary day. Much like jewellery or a statement accessory, makeup can change the entire mood of an outfit. The trick is knowing which details to turn up, and how to make them your own.
This season, M·A·C Cosmetics India’s Party in M·A·C campaign makes a case for exactly that kind of expressive beauty. Fronted by Tania Shroff, Nejm and Priya Jain, the campaign film follows the ritual of getting ready, building from the first touch of makeup to the moment you step out. Bold colour, luminous skin and defined eyes come together to capture the shift in mood that happens when getting ready becomes part of the occasion itself. It is a reminder that festive makeup need not follow a formula; it can be as individual as the person wearing it.

The collection takes a familiar M·A·C signature and gives it a festive twist. The brand’s iconic black packaging turns gold across seven limited-edition favourites, while five limited-edition kits arrive in exclusive outer boxes. But beyond the packaging, the appeal lies in the possibilities these products offer. Think of the lip as the focal point of a look, a high-shine finish against more understated makeup, or a smoky eye that brings a little drama to an otherwise minimal ensemble.
For a classic statement lip, the M·A·Cximal Matte Lipstick in Timeless Taupe delivers rich, full-coverage colour in a matte finish. If a more impactful lip is the mood, Locked Kiss Ink in Bonded With Teddy offers intense pigment and long-wearing colour. The complexion and eyes offer another way to play with contrast. Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Static Bling brings a dimensional, high-shine finish to the skin, catching the light as the evening unfolds. For definition, Kajal Excess Longwear Smoky Eye Liner in Pitch can be drawn into a precise line, softened into a smudge or layered for a more dramatic effect.

The campaign also marks the second India-focused campaign by Nicola Formichetti as M·A·C’s Global Creative Director, following Forever in M·A·C, his first campaign created specifically for the Indian market. Drawing on his experience across fashion, music and culture, Formichetti brings an expressive sensibility to festive beauty, placing makeup within the wider ritual of getting dressed and preparing for a night out.

Ultimately, the most interesting festive looks are rarely about following every trend or getting every detail exactly right. They are about finding the one element that feels distinctly yours — and having the confidence to take it a little further. With Party in M·A·C, the invitation is to approach festive beauty with the same instinct you bring to personal style: experiment, play with contrast and wear what makes you feel like yourself.
The M·A·C Cosmetics Festive Collection is available across leading retailers, including Nykaa, Sephora, Tira and Myntra.
This season, show up, stand out, and make the look your own.
