A TASTE OF LATIN AMERICA

Give your taste buds an upgrade as Latoya raises the culinary bar in New Delhi. The restaurant and bar,
opened recently at Eldeco Centre, Malviya Nagar, offers an immersive journey through Latin American
flavours—from Mexican tacos and Peruvian Nikkei fusion to Argentinian grills. The menu blends premium imports with local ingredients, complemented by a bold cocktail menu featuring Latin spirits and tropical infusions. Designed by Nivedita Agarwal, the vibrant interiors echo the warmth and artistry of the region.

ASPECTS OF EXISTENCE

Rediscover beauty in form, rhythm, and spirit as Bespoke Art Gallery, Ahmedabad presents Purusha
Prakriti, a landmark exhibition curated by Uma Nair. Featuring 40 renowned artists—sculptors, ceramicists, painters, and installation masters—the show explores the harmony between man and nature through tradition and contemporary forms. The exhibition, dedicated to renowned sculptor Himmat Shah, will be on display till June 10.

CHANGING PERCEPTIONS

A landmark exhibition, titled Alchemy of Matter: New Materiality and Studio Practices at Baroda, spotlights a radical shift in the city’s art landscape. Curated by Rahul Bhattacharya for The Lexicon Art in Delhi, the showcase features 16 pioneering artists such as Indrapramit Roy, Mayur Gupta, and Santa Rakshit. On display till June 10, the show positions Baroda’s studios as sites of experimentation and dialogue, with materials speaking directly to social realities, and explores a critical shift in artistic practices.

REGIONAL FLAVOURS

Mumbai’s newest culinary landmark—Joshi House in Worli’s Koliwada. Restaurateur Suren Joshi reimagines Indian dining with a nostalgic yet modern twist. Set across three thoughtfully designed floors, it blends Rajasthani heritage with coastal Mumbai charm. Chef Richard D’souza crafts a hyperlocal Indian menu with dishes like Moringa Shorba, Tellicherry Pomfret, Duck Chettinaad, and Prawn Biryani. Joshi House invites guests to slow down, savour regional flavours, and experience Indian hospitality.

CONTEMPORARY THOUGHT

A compelling exhibition, titled Re-Figuring, explores the human figure as a site of tension shaped by ecological crisis, capitalist alienation, and digital control. Hosted at Emami Art, Kolkata, till June 21, it features hyperreal and semi-abstract bodies in painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Richa Agarwal, CEO of Emami Art, shares, “ReFiguring brings together recent works by 10 artists across various mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, video, and photography. While each artist’s approach is distinct, the exhibition explores figuration and space from multiple perspectives.”

LEGACY OF A KIND

To mark the 30th death anniversary of artist Bimal Das Gupta, Gallery Silver Scapes and Dhoomimal
Gallery have launched a special edition of Bimal Das Gupta: An Ode to a Legend. The book explores
Das Gupta’s artistic journey, from figurative works to groundbreaking abstractions. With essays by leading art historians and personal tributes, it situates his legacy within the broader arc of Indian modernism.
