Artisanal Swiss chocolate brand Läderach forays into India

Its first exclusive Indian store has opened in New Delhi in partnership with the DS Group.

The burgeoning craft chocolate scene in India continues to bring a smorgasbord of home-grown labels and imported brands to lovers of the confection—and luxury Swiss chocolate brand Läderach is the new addition to the mix. When it comes to chocolates, Belgian and Swiss chocolatiers continue to catch the fancy of the country’s gourmands.

Exclusively partnering with Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group), a multi-business FMCG conglomerate, for its debut in India, the Swiss manufacturer has opened its first store in New Delhi’s DLF Emporio, where you can explore and shop for everything from pralines and truffles, to slabs of chocolate. You’ll also find frischSchoggi (fresh chocolate) at the store, a Läderach specialty, which has different chocolates (milk, dark, or white) in tablet form studded with a mix of nuts, dried fruits, berries, and even cornflakes that you can buy in the form of delicious shards. Apart from these, their signature chocolate bars are on offer, too. Founded in 1962, Läderach is a family-owned brand that has been crafting premium chocolate since the past 60 years, and is available in over 18 countries.

Inaugurated by Dr Olivier Fink, minister and deputy head of mission at the Embassy of Switzerland, along with World Chocolate Master Elias Läderach and Rajiv Kumar, vice chairman of the DS group, the store launch saw an exclusive master class by Elias Läderach, who shared his knowledge on all things chocolate with the audience. “We are thrilled to introduce Läderach to the vibrant Indian market. India has a rich cultural heritage and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and luxury, making it the perfect destination for our brand’s expansion,” he said.

Kumar expressed his excitement at the store’s opening, saying, “The first exclusive Läderach store at DLF Emporio is sure to be Delhi’s ultimate chocolate destination. We’re excited to bring our customers a unique experience offering unparalleled moments of chocolate indulgence. With their unmatched expertise and unwavering dedication to quality, Läderach perfectly complements our vision of offering the best to our consumers.”

And from what we know, this is only the beginning. You can expect more Läderach stores, and subsequently more Swiss chocolate deliciousness in the future as the DS group plans to open five to seven exclusive boutiques over the next two years. If paying a visit to the brand-new store in Delhi isn’t possible for you, order your favourites from their online store.
