Founded by Namrata Gupta and Rajesh Gupta, Anantam is a multi-designer boutique that seamlessly blends traditional Indian aesthetics with contemporary sensibilities. But what truly sets it apart is its meticulous curation process, which is deeply intuitive and tailored to the needs of its clientele.

"We curate a line based on our clients' preferences and preferred price points, ensuring that every store has a distinct vision," says Namrata. "Each of our locations is different, with 70-80 per cent of the merchandise varying based on the space, the racks available, and the kind of shopping experience we want to create."

From trousseau shopping to fusion wear, every category is carefully considered. Upcoming designers are scouted not just for their talent but for how seamlessly they fit into Anantam’s aesthetic. "We are very vigilant about fresh talent. We look around, and when we see someone with potential, we reach out—or they reach out to us. It’s always a collaborative process. We discuss ideas, price points, even colours, ensuring the collections feel cohesive and relevant."

For Gupta, curation is instinctive, a constant process of evolution. "Every season is a fresh canvas. We paint it differently each time, keeping it exciting not just for our clients but for ourselves too."

As one of India’s first multi-designer boutiques, Ensemble has long been synonymous with innovation. With a legacy of having launched some of India’s most celebrated designers, the store continues to be a powerhouse of discovery.

"We’re always on the lookout for new talent and find designers in so many different ways," says Aria Parikh, daughter of Ensemble’s executive director Tina Tahiliani and head of special projects at the brand. "Many designers reach out to us directly, but we also have a team of merchandisers constantly scouting—both online and offline—for fresh perspectives."

But it’s not just about discovering talent; it’s about nurturing it. "We have a clear point of view on onboarding designers. Luxury isn’t just about how a garment looks—it’s about how it feels and how it makes you feel. We look for originality, impeccable craftsmanship, and a vision that feels relevant today but will stand the test of time."

Every store under the Ensemble umbrella has its own identity, tailored to its clientele while maintaining a cohesive design philosophy. "Quality, great design, and a strong perspective remain central. But each store is curated based on its specific market and surroundings, ensuring that while every door feels unique, there’s still a common thread tying it all together."
