All music lovers, listen up! The complete line-up for Coachella 2023 is out, and it’s got us grinning like a 10-year-old eating cotton candy. But before we get into why that is, let's start from the basics, shall we? The infamous music festival is taking place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, across two weekends—April 14-16 and 21-23.

This year, Coachella will be headlined by Bad Bunny (one of Spotify’s most streamed artists), Frank Ocean and the K-pop band Black Pink (above pic). In fact, Black Pink will be making history as the first K-pop band to be one of the headliners at the music festival. But they aren’t the only one setting a record. Amid the impressive line-up that’s generating a buzz for their inclusivity of global artists there is Punjabi singer, actor, and film producer Diljit Dosanjh. One of the biggest South-Asian names around the globe, Dosanjh will make history as the first Punjabi singer to perform at Coachella.

The roster also includes Charli XCX a singer-songwriter of Scottish and Indian descent, Pakistani singer, songwriter, composer Ali Sethi (who will be the second Pakistani to perform at Coachella) Bangladeshi-American electronic music producer Jai Wolf, British-Indian record producer Jai Paul and British-Bangladeshi singer-songwriter Joy Crookes.

This Coachella line-up is significant for a lot of reasons. Not only does it set a brilliant precedent for the years to come, but it also is a masterclass in brown and Asian representation. It’s a small win but it’s still a win. Some other notable artists who will be performing are—Adam Beyer, The Blaze, Blondie, Calvin Harris, DJ Tennis + Carlita, Doechii, Sasha Alex Sloan, Wet Leg, Weyes Blood, Idris Elba and Jackson Wang.
