5 delightful new OTT releases to stream this December

There’s a lot to savour in the last month of 2023.

As far as the most entertaining OTT shows of the year are concerned, we have the best saved for the last month of the year. There's the most-awaited musical of 2023, The Archies; the second part of The Crown Season 6 that will be a fitting end to the hit show on the royal family; and Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Adarsh Gourav-starrer coming-of-age drama, among many others. 

The Archies 

Set in ’60s India, in a fictional town called Riverdale, The Archies is a coming-of-age film following the lives of the town’s favourite set of teenagers—Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton. Seen through the lens of the unique Anglo-Indian community, The Archies explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion. The film marks the debut of Suhana Khan (King Khan's daughter), Agastya Nanda (Amitabh Bachchan's grandson), and Khushi Kapoor (daughter of legendary actor Sridevi). Along with this talented trio, the movie also stars Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Vedang Raina, and Yuvraj Menda. If you're wondering if you should watch it, we'd say you read about what we liked about trailer.

Kadak Singh 

Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury of Pink and Lost fame, the movie is billed as an engaging thriller filled with mystery and suspense. Kadak Singh follows the journey of AK Shrivastav, played by Pankaj Tripathi, as he battles retrograde amnesia, uncovering a web of conflicting narratives from his past. It also stars Sanjana Sanghi.

The Crown Season 6 Part 2 

Peter Morgan’s groundbreaking series comes to an end with its upcoming six episodes. The end of Part 1 witnessed the British royal family navigating the aftermath of the sudden deaths of Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) and Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) after their fatal car crash in Paris. Picking up a few months after the tragedy, Part 2 sees Prince William and Prince Harry growing up, with the former (now played by newcomer Ed McVey) pursuing his studies at the University of St. Andrews. The upcoming episodes will also have a lot of royal romance as William meets fellow student Kate Middleton (Meg Bellamy) during his time at university and wedding bells ring for Charles (Dominic West) and Camilla (Olivia Williams).

Kho Gaye Hum Kahan 

Three best friends juggle life as 20-somethings in Mumbai, where romance, ambition, and heartbreak collide with the addictive draw of social media. The upcoming film features Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Adarsh Gourav.

Berlin

One of our favourite characters from the hit show Money Heist gets his very own spin-off series. Set before the events of Money Heist, Berlin and a gang gather in Paris for one of his most ambitious heists yet. But for Berlin, the risk is usually worth it, as nothing can brighten up a dark day like love or stealing a fortune.
