If you haven't already noticed, corsets are making a serious comeback. From runways to red carpets, they are everywhere; and it is not surprising. Considering how this structured piece can instantly elevate a look, the corset revolution was long overdue.

At the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week, designers took their corsets seriously. Yash Patil of the brand That Antiquepiece pushed the boundaries with his contemporary takes, while the latest drops by Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra, and Falguni Shane Peacock celebrated the waist-cinching silhouette in its most authentic form—breathing new life into it at the same time.

The corset is hardly a new trend for our favourite Bollywood celebrities. Bhumi Pednekar, for one, is practically the poster girl for the “corset-blouse” look. A quick scroll through her Instagram feed shows just how often she turns to this silhouette, styling it in a multitude of ways that prove just how versatile corsets can be. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt broke the monotony of an all-black ensemble by layering it with a cream-striped corset, and Never Have I Ever star Richa Moorjani stunned in an embroidered corset, effortlessly paired with a green-hued saree.

Feeling inspired to work corsets into your everyday style—whether it’s for the office, a brunch date, or even a night out? Don’t hesitate. With the right styling, this structured piece can seamlessly fit into your daily wardrobe. Below, we’ve rounded up a few easy tips to help you incorporate corsets into your everyday looks.

The bottom conundrum

What you pair your corset top with can completely change the perception of your entire fit. If you want to add a touch of elegance, styling a corset with a skirt—like Khushi Kapoor recently did—is your best bet. The Nadaaniyaan star paired a heavily embellished corset with a magenta, figure-hugging skirt silhouette. Skirts crafted from satin, chiffon, georgette, or even cotton add a soft, ethereal touch to your overall vibe.

If you are aiming for a more structured, statement look, try pairing your corset with boxy trousers or fit-and-flare pants for added character. Denim, in any colour, brings a casual ease to corsets, with lighter washes making the outfit feel softer and fresher. And remember—there’s no such thing as too much when it comes to corsets. Sometimes, the best move is to go for a matching co-ord, giving your look a strong, uniform finish.

Corsets often get boxed in as "edgy" or "extra," but the beauty of a corset lies in how easily it adapts to everyday dressing. Considering you can create endless looks from a single piece, a corset is an investment in versatile style. It’s stunning, timeless, and the perfect addition to a wardrobe that works overtime. So, are you investing in your own corset this summer?
