Home-grown beachwear brands to add to your summer vacation wardrobe

Easy-breezy swimwear!

Harper's Bazaar India

As the official vacation season is upon us, we’re all itching to ditch our jeans in favour of summer dresses and sarongs. Sometimes, though, shopping for a vacation can feel like you’re drowning in options. And while spending hours scrolling through a sea of swimsuits to find the perfect one increases our excitement, it can be quite tedious.

To help you save some time, we’ve compiled a list of the best home-grown brands that make easy-breezy beachwear and anything you may need to elevate your tropical getaway!

Flirtatious

If you’re looking at filling your tropical vacation wardrobe with vibrant yet edgy outfits, look no further than Flirtatious. A brainchild of Aakriti Grover, this brand puts equal emphasis on design and functionality. Its outfits feature cut-outs and fringe detailing, and come in popping hues. However, the beauty of the brand lies in the fact that since its inception, it has followed a ‘made to order’ model. This means, all products are manufactured in-house singularly upon purchase. Its approach to slow fashion aims at reducing the impact on the environment while not compromising the product’s comfort and style.

Founded by Bhaavya and Rishi, Nadi Nadi is an extension of their jewellery brand Hannan. For them, beachwear and resort wear is a playground to play around with materials and design without any restrictions or boundaries. They believe in slow fashion and use regenerated nylon and recycled polyester for all their pieces. Eco-conscious yet chic, can you ask for more?

The Summer House

The Summer House combines everyday luxury with mindful living. Its co-founders Shivangini Parihar and Rekha Datla believe in conscious practices and their outfits are seeped in contemporary aesthetic. They use Econyl for their swimwear which is not only friendly for the environment but also actually helps clean up the oceans as Econyl is made from fishing nets and other ocean pollutants. This waste is then converted into fabric that is gorgeous, strong, and sustainable.

EL Swimwear

EL Swimwear is an environmentally-friendly swimwear label that aims at producing affordable swimwear rooted in conscious practices. The prints featured on their outfits are original watercolour paintings done by founder Esha Lal herself. These prints make the outfits vibrant and colourful. The beachwear is made with 100 per cent organic GOTS-certified cotton. This cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment.

Sazo

A brainchild of Saoni Daini and Priya Suvarna, Sazo was born out of their quest for unusual prints—think quirky prints, doodles and bold colours—during the pandemic. This brand is for all those who love experimenting with your beachwear wardrobe.
