Shakira fans will be happy to know that the Colombian singing sensation is making a remarkable comeback after seven long years with her new album, ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’. The Spanish title translates to Women Don’t Cry Anymore, and according to a press release, the album is a testament to “Shakira’s resilience and strength, and music’s power to transform even the most trying experiences into precious moments.”

The title pays tribute to the empowering lyrics from her song ‘Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,’ where she proclaimed, ‘las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan,’ which loosely translates to “women don’t cry anymore, they make money.” The new 16-track album will include eight new tracks, one remix, and seven previously-released numbers—‘Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’ with Bizarrap, ‘TQG’ with Karol G, ‘Te Felicito’ with Rauw Alejandro, and ‘Copa Vacía’ with Manuel Turizo. Each song showcases Shakira’s versatility and ability to transcend boundaries through her music.

Shakira’s new album also marks her debut release on vinyl. These come with four unique artwork editions, each with an exclusive coloured vinyl variant—a Sapphire edition that will be available on Amazon, a Ruby edition solely available at Target, an Emerald edition available on Shakira’s official website, and a Diamond edition that will be stocked by all major retailers. The upcoming album follows her 2017 release El Dorado, which dominated the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart for five weeks. It featured chart-toppers like ‘Chantaje’ with Maluma, ‘La Bicicleta’ with Carlos Vives, and ‘Deja Vu’ featuring Prince Royce. As for her singles, Shakira treated fans to a host of bangers including ‘Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,’ ‘Copa Vacía,’ ‘El Jefe,’ and ‘Acróstico.’

Hinting at the release of her new album, Shakira teased her fans with a short video on Instagram, which featured a diamond motif followed by clips from previously released singles. “Stay tuned,” she said to her massive Instagram following of over 90 million.

She later dropped the album cover on her Gram, with sparkling tears running down her face. The caption, written in both, Spanish and English, read, “My new album, coming out March 22, is one I created together with all of you, my pack of shewolves who were there for me every step of the way.”

Reflecting on her creative journey, Shakira added, “Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. While writing each song, I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength.”
