Fans have a reason to say ''thank you'' to Ariana Grande, as she just announced her next album will drop sooner rather than later. Eternal Sunshine, the pop singer’s seventh studio album, will be out from Republic Records on March 8. The news comes more than three years after her last full-length release, 2020’s Positions.
Ahead, everything to know about her upcoming record.
When is the release date?
Eternal Sunshine is due out on March 8, 2024.
Grande has already released the album’s lead single—house-inspired dance anthem 'Yes, And?''—and its music video. Written and produced by Grande, with Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh, the track debuted at no.1 on the Spotify Global Chart, for her biggest Spotify debut ever. It also debuted at no.1 on the Apple Music Top 100 Global chart. On February 16, the singer also released a 'Yes, And?' remix featuring Mariah Carey.
What about the cover art?
Eternal Sunshine’s cover is a blurry close-up of Grande’s face. The photo shows the singer in her signature black eyeliner and a bold red lip. Little else can be gleaned from the photo; Grande appears to be wearing a plain gold earring.
On Instagram, she shared other photos that appeared to be from the same shoot. In front of a brown background, she is posing in a white button-up blouse with a Peter Pan collar and sheer red gloves.
Grande took to Instagram again to share four “exclusive” alternative covers: “Exclusive cover no. 1” shows Grande posing with her eyes closed, holding her French-manicured hands at her forehead and wearing the same sheer red gloves to match her vibrant lips and a white Peter Pan–collared T-shirt. The second cover depicts Grande from the back, with her hair swept up in her signature high ponytail, resting her head on the shoulder of what appears to be another version of herself.
Cover number three is a compilation of 12 black-and-white photos of herself in different poses wearing a red mock-neck work dress, sheer red tights, and matching pointed-toe stilettos, all overlaid with a hazy red tint. And exclusive cover no. 4 captures Grande in the same outfit sitting on a tan couch in a dark room, a beam of light coming through a window.
