Let’s see what the first month of the year has in store for you.

2023 gave us a lot of entertaining content on OTT and by the looks of it, 2024 won’t be any different. You can expect a perfect mix of fresh offerings that cater to your binge-watching needs. And if you’re looking forward to a host of new shows and movies to add to your watchlist, then here’s what to expect from leading streaming services in January 2024. 

Fool Me Once


If you love the thriller genre, then you're probably familiar with Harlan Coben's popular novel-turned-series like The Stranger or The Innocent. Coben's latest project Fool Me Once is an eight-part limited series surrounding a widow named Maya. In the days after her husband’s murder, Maya is shocked to find him paying their daughter a visit after reviewing footage from a nanny camera set up at home. Upon further investigation, she learns that her sister was killed with the same gun that killed Joe—suggesting that the two deaths are connected. What follows is a homicide investigation by a detective that opens up a can of worms for everybody involved.

You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment


The Netflix show has identical twins change their diets and lifestyles for eight weeks in a unique scientific experiment designed to explore how certain foods impact the body. Chronicling the recent Stanford University study of identical twins, the series follows twin pairs: one of whom is put on a vegan or plant-based diet (free of meat, seafood, eggs, and dairy), while the other eats an omnivore diet (including plants, meat, and animal by-products).

Echo


A first for Marvel Studios, Echo is the first MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) show to premiere under a binge model. The five-episode series stars Alaqua Cox as the deaf superhero character of Echo, who was introduced in the Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld-led show Hawkeye, in November 2021. Echo aka Maya Lopez is a hearing-impaired Native American woman with the ability to perfectly replicate another person's fighting style. Echo follows Lopez as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk's (D'Onofrio) criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy, as per the official plotline.

Killer Soup


This is a show you just don't want to miss. Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sen Sharma in lead roles, the series revolves around the life of Swathi Shetty (Sharma), an aspiring home chef who schemes a plan to replace her husband Prabhakar (Bajpayee), with her lover, Umesh (also played by Bajpayee). Things, however, don’t go to plan as a local inspector along with a bunch of amateur criminals stir up trouble leading to chaos and a recipe for laughter.

Indian Police Force

Indian Police Force is set to deliver a thrilling entertainment experience, offering audiences worldwide an immersive journey into the next instalment of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. Making his digital directorial debut, Shetty presents a spectacle featuring Siddharth Malhotra in a refreshing cop role, supported by a stellar cast including Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Vivek Oberoi, Shweta Tiwari, Nikitin Dheer, Rituraj Singh, Mukesh Rishi, and Lalit Parimoo in key roles. This high-octane series is a tribute to the dedicated service and unwavering patriotism of Indian police officers.

Griselda


The six-part limited series is inspired by the real-life story of Griselda Blanco—a Colombian businesswoman turned drug lord aka 'The Godmother' of the criminal underworld of 1970s Miami, Florida. Playing the titular role is Sofia Vergara who takes on a completely different role compared to everything else we've seen her in before. The official Netflix synopsis reads, "Griselda is inspired by the life of the savvy and ambitious Griselda Blanco, who created one of the most profitable cartels in history. In 1970s-80s Miami, Blanco’s lethal blend of unsuspected savagery and charm helped her expertly navigate between business and family, leading her to become widely known as 'the Godmother.'"
