For the “Revolving Door” singer, what she puts on her body is not only personal, but it also has to be practical, allowing her enough movement when executing her oft-elaborate dance moves.
“I’m usually ultra-specific in what I can wear as a dancer,” McRae says. “I need to feel free, I need to feel comfortable. And these jeans were super easy for me to wear, dancing-wise.”
Directed by Carlijn Jacobs, the campaign sees McRae twisting, stretching, and contorting her body, getting even more active in the coinciding video, where she dances to “Groove Is in the Heart” by Deee-Lite—a song choice that cements the overall ’90s effect.
McRae teamed up with choreographer Sergio Reis for the visual, and she shares that she only had about 20 minutes to learn the movements ahead of time.
“That’s my favorite type of energy—spontaneity and high-pressure situations where you have to be put on the spot and figure out what looks best in the space, and make the campaign come alive,” she notes.
McRae joins the Calvin Klein family not long after headlining the 2026 Lollapalooza and Osheaga festivals, which resulted in some of her buzziest performances yet. Of course, fans are clamoring to find out when she’ll begin rolling out her fourth studio album. (Her last LP, the chart-topping So Close to What, was released in February 2025.)
“I always get comments like ‘[She’s] everywhere but the damn studio,’ and I'm like, ‘Girls, I’m in the studio,’” McRae says with a laugh.
In fact, as we wrap up our call, McRae tells me that she’s about to head to the studio right then—dressed in her Calvin Klein jeans and a white tank top, naturally.
