Benny Blanco says he and Selena Gomez are “so excited” to start planning their wedding

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are still very much in the honeymoon phase. But when it comes to actually getting married, the pair aren’t in any sort of rush.

In a new episode of the podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane, Blanco divulged that he and Gomez haven’t even set a date for their wedding yet. “We’re both working on so many things that we hadn’t even had time to get into it,” the hitmaker said. “But we’re so excited.”

Blanco went on to note that he and the Only Murders in the Building star will hopefully start nailing down some wedding details soon. He said, “I think this summer, we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘OK, what are we doing?’” As for what to expect, the producer said the ceremony is going to be “chill” and “amazing.”

It’s no surprise the pair are taking their time, given that they’ve had jam-packed schedules ever since they announced their engagement in December 2024. Just this past March, the couple released their first joint album, I Said I Love You First, which was supported with a string of singles like “Call Me When You Break Up” and “Sunset Blvd.”

“We got engaged and then we were filming music videos for our album, then it’s [the] holidays, then right after the holidays, we had to start all the promo for our stuff, do that,” Blanco told Shane. “Then she left to film her show, Only Murders, and then I met her, then we hung out for a week and then right after that, it’s [more] promo.”

With so much on their plates, Blanco joked: “I just want to lie in bed and forget what day it is.” He also noted that he and Gomez are looking forward to taking “a little break” (despite the fact that he’s currently in the process of working on another book, too).

At the end of 2024, Gomez announced her engagement to Blanco with a gushing Instagram post in which she showed off her stunning marquise diamond ring, which is estimated to be worth anywhere between $200,000 and $1 million.

“Forever begins now,” she captioned the post. In it, she not only featured photos of her ring, but also a snap of herself and Blanco hugging and kissing on the floor.

Following the announcement, the betrothed sat down for a cover story with Interview, where they got candid about their love. “I don’t think that I have life figured out in any way,” Gomez said, when asked what sort of relationship advice she could offer. “My perspective on it, in a simplistic way, is that I actually feel valued. I feel seen. I feel respected. And I think that’s all I’ve ever really wanted. I’ve kind of been alone in the world. I was alone for five years before we got together, and I think that really helped me appreciate someone like Ben. He gets so weirded out by me saying this, but genuinely, 10 years ago, I wasn’t in a space in my life where I could have accepted the kind of patience, the kind of unconditional love that he gives me.”

When asked his perspective, Blanco said: “Happy wife, happy life. Shut the f*ck up and listen to your partner.”
