I can’t stop thinking about the chrome hair at Chanel

The runway was aglow in Paris with pops of silvery glitter accents.

It girls everywhere have been clamoring to buy Chanel creative director Matthieu Blazy’s debut Spring 2026 collection in Paris since it became available for purchase mere days ago. While I’m also plotting how to literally secure the bag (any of them, really) from last season, the maison’s chrome-accented hair and makeup looks from the new Fall/Winter 2026 collection have quickly become my new obsession, and I’m not the only one.

“It was so, so incredible—glitter extensions in a chignon!” Bazaar executive digital director Lynette Nylander said of the season’s styling after attending the show in person. And even from afar, all the way in New York City, the surprise appeal of metallic beauty accents on the runway wasn’t lost on me.

Led by celebrity hairstylist Duffy, models at Chanel’s fall/winter presentation wore a range of looks, like sleek blowouts, loose waves, natural coils, and precise slicked-back buns. But a handful of outfits from the collection were punctuated by standout silver chignons, some with a heavy dusting of glitter and others with subtle purple ombré and intense tinsel extensions woven into a French twist. The updos were only part of the collection’s beauty color story, as they were paired with a wash of matching silver eyeshadow on the lid and a glossy lip. A handful of models also wore wavy back-grazing silver wigs with soft streaks of purple and blue throughout, with sparkling lavender shadow as a final touch.

In a sea of minimal, barely there hair moments, Duffy and Blazy’s unexpected pops of chrome and glitter were a welcome addition to high-fashion runways. It also begs a question: Is silver hair a key trend for fall 2026? If Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor’s sleek and silver hairdo at the show is any indication, cool-tone shades are about to have a major beauty moment.
