Have you ever binge-watched reality food shows and wished you could dive straight into the screen and binge on the dishes in real life? Well, now you can, albeit for a limited time. Netflix is opening its first-ever pop-up restaurant Netflix Bites in Los Angeles on June 30, and it will have a tasting menu featuring bites from popular Netflix series like Chef’s Table, Iron Chef, and Nadiya Bakes among others.
It will bring together celebrity chefs like Curtis Stone (of Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend fame), along with other chefs including Dominique Crenn (from Chef’s Table and Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend), Ann Kim (Chef's Table: Pizza), Nadiya Hussain (Nadiya Bakes), Jacques Torres (Nailed It!), and Andrew Zimmern (Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend). The drinks menu will feature custom concoctions by mixologists from Netflix’s Drink Masters—including Frankie Solarik, Julie Reiner, LP O'Brien, and Kate Gerwin.
Chef Curtis Stone explained, "Bringing my love of food to people across the world is one of the biggest thrills of my life but this screen-to-table experience of giving fans a taste of what happens on camera is just awesome. The talented chefs and mixologists assembled means there is something for everyone”.
According to Josh Simon, VP, Consumer Products Netflix, this move is an attempt to create more in-person experiences for the fans where they can interact with the shows they watch. The step to open a new culinary space also comes amid the streaming platform’s foray into offering more live experiences, like the Bridgerton-inspired Queen’s Ball, an immersive experience in multiple American cities and Toronto, and a pop-up retail store that sells show merchandise at The Grove shopping mall, also in Los Angeles.
The restaurant will invite diners from 5:00 to 10:00 pm, seven days a week, and offer a special brunch menu on the weekends from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Beyond the hours of operation, Netflix is yet to share any further information on the actual menu or other details.
Interested guests can book a reservation at the restaurant’s dedicated website www.netflixbites.com and keep a lookout on its Instagram account @netflixbites to stay updated on the latest news.
