Upcoming international fashion weeks that should be on your radar

We predict plenty of fashion in your future.

Harper's Bazaar India

There are two times in the year when our feeds are abuzz with nothing but fashion news and eye-catching sartorial moments—once at the start of the year when designers and fashion labels present their Autumn/Winter collections, and then again from June-October when the Spring/Summer collections are showcased.

This period is jam-packed with everything fashion with celebrities, influencers, and creatives from around the world gathering at different destinations to see the best and latest in fashion.

If you’re a fashion enthusiast or simply want to be in the know, here’s a list of upcoming fashion weeks taking place around the world that you should keep an eye out for.

London Fashion Week (Men) Spring/Summer—June 9-12

While the main London Fashion Week Spring/Summer will be held in September, the June edition will focus on menswear (there will be a bit of womenswear, too) and feature panel discussions and evening events in addition to the presentations. It will see collections by Sudanese designer Omer Asim and Lebanese designer Salim Azzam under the label Qasimi, Justin Cassin, and others.

Paris Fashion Week (Men) Spring/Summer—June 20-25

On the lines of the men’s edition of London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week is also slated to organise an event showcasing menswear. The Spring/Summer edition will be presented in a hybrid offline-digital format and will see showcases by brands like Louis Vuitton, Acne Studios, Issey Miyake, Rick Owens, and Givenchy among others.

Paris Haute Couture Week Fall/Winter—July 3-6

On the other side of the spectrum of most of these fashion weeks is Paris Haute Couture Week. This stand-alone event, which takes place twice a year—once in February and the second time in July for three days—is all about high fashion instead of ready-to-wear collections. It showcases fashion at its creative and innovative best.

Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/Summer—August 7-11

This biannual event is touted as the Scandinavian region’s only fashion week. It has risen to become one of the biggest events to look out for in the fashion world and is known for spotlighting sustainability. This year’s Autumn/Winter installation was held from January 31 to February 3 and saw prominent regional labels like Ganni, Saks Potts, and Stine Goya showcase their collections. The second one is scheduled to take place from August 7 to 11.

One of the ‘big four’ fashion events, with London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week rounding up the quartet, New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is held twice a year—in February and September. While the main event takes place at Spring Studios at 50 Varick Street, some designers choose other locations spread across the city as a backdrop for their showcase. This year, the show will also see Indian designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock presenting their collection.

London Fashion Week Spring/Summer—September 15-19

The major fashion events kick-start with NYFW, followed by other three fashion weeks held back-to-back. The second one, in London, sees the who’s who of the British and European fashion industries in attendance for a fashion-packed five days. The February edition saw a showcase dedicated to India, with a special khadi collection by 12 female designers from the International Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD).

Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer—September 25-October 3

The last of the ‘big four’ events for the year, Paris Fashion Week will see prominent fashion designers showcasing their Spring/Summer 2024 collection over nine days. Like most fashion weeks, it takes place twice a year—this year’s Autumn/Winter 2023 edition was held in March and saw major fashion moments like Bella Hadid’s spray-on dress by Coperni. The second edition will be held in the city from September 25 to October 3.

Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer—September 19-25

After London Fashion Week wraps up, the spotlight shifts to Milan. The city’s stunning monuments serve as the perfect location for fashion designers to showcase their collections. You’ll find most luxury fashion giants presenting at the seven-day event—think Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Fendi, and more. The second edition for 2023 will be held from September 19 to 25.

FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week Fall/Winter—October 11-15

Organised jointly by the Fashion Design Council of India, Lakme, and RISE Worldwide, Lakme Fashion Week has had the long-standing reputation of being India’s foremost fashion event. It’s known for bringing the country’s leading fashion designers like Manish Malhotra, Anamika Khanna, JJ Valaya, and others, under one roof as they present their prêt collections with film stars walking the runway as showstoppers. Its Spring/Summer showcase took place in Mumbai from March 9-12, and the event will make its Fall/Winter return in October in Delhi.
