Fashion is more than just what one chooses to wear in the morning. It encompasses everything from being a reflection of who we are to a dialogue with the world, through which we present our identities. For those who perceive it as a meaningless choice, we suggest taking a moment to recall the iconic Cerulean Sweater Monologue by Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada.

Fashion is a choice we make every day, repeatedly, throughout our lives. It is emblematic of the journey we embark on to ascertain our voice, our identity, and our expression. This journey is what give us meaning, power, and happiness; it defines who we chose to be every single day. And while you dwell on all the spiel we've given you in the last one minute, here are some upcoming fashion collaborations that you need to look out for for your next buy.

One thing that is always synonymous to exhilaration, inspiration, and anticipation among fashion enthusiasts is collaborations, particularly when they bridge polar spheres. When high-end luxury labels synergise with high street fashion, a new world of creative expression becomes accessible to all those who fervently resonate with such styles but are often deterred by their inane prices. One such partnership is the upcoming Victoria Beckham x Mango collection, set to be released on April 23, in celebration of the Spanish high-street brand Mango’s 40th anniversary.

The former spice girl, Victoria Beckham has been growing and nurturing her eponymous label to success since 2008. Her collection has been adorned by many and adored by the rest, as her signature pieces like flared trousers, angular blazers, satin blouses, and spaghetti-strap slips have resonated widely. This collaboration promises to entail timeless pieces, as suggested by the designer herself, with a commitment to quality despite the respite from luxury pricing. With pieces like slip dresses, versatile knitwear, statement bags, and accessories, all coupled with elegant tailoring, offering a fresh interpretation of her message of elegance and longevity.

Mango has consistently served its audience through collaborations with revered names like Camille Charrière, Pernille Teisbaek, and Simon Miller. In this particular collection, the label is set to present the classic and traditional Victoria Beckham in a modern, more accessible rendition. Beckham found the timeless sophistication of the late Jane Birkin’s character in La Piscine as her muse, evident in the swim-wear and crocheted pieces that echo Birkin’s French Riviera costumes. Through this collection, Victoria appears to have achieved her goal of reaching a wider audience in a relevant fashion while still retaining her essence and aesthetic. With the accessibility of a revered luxury label at high-street prices, coupled with the limited number of pieces, this collection has already charted its course towards a successful sale trajectory.

The fusion of archival, traditional, and timeless pieces with a modern, contemporary approach has been on an unabating rise this season. From fashion weeks to individual collections, many of the upcoming clothing lines in 2024 are centred around this theme. The ANINE BING x Reebok, an exclusive capsule collection aimed at blending vintage comfort wear with modern day sportwear, was launched in the second week of April. It not only contributes to the fusion trend but also pays homage to Princess Diana, who pioneered the off-duty staples trend, including the sweatshirt, sneakers, and biker shorts combination—a style for which the brand is renowned. Diana's iconic ensembles featuring oversized athletic sportswear paired with sculpted bodysuits and biking shorts became a sensation in the 1980s and 1990s. Nearly three decades later, it has found its place in 2024, not only as a revived trend but also as a muse for this LA based designer.

Anine Bing has reimagined her signature timeless style with three of Reebok’s beloved shoes in new colourways—the Freestyle Hi, as seen on princess Diana herself in “Chalk/Chalk”; Classic Nylon in “Royal/Chalk-Navy”; and Classic Slides in “Black/White. The collection also offers trainers, bodysuits, gym wear, elevated loungewear and even some pieces of contemporary formal wear such as sleek blazers and wide leg denims to balance out and define the oversized lounges. The collaboration of brands is marked by their custom ANINE BING x Reebok logo along with the use of premium textiles such as heavyweight fleece and French terry as well as retro washes, which serve as a unifying factor throughout the collection.

The style is specifically tailored for busy women who can confidently rely on this collection to elevate their casual wear with ingenuity. With a decade-long legacy, the label has always promulgated the vision of a laid back, cool-girl style that is infused with the undertones of chic, woven through their effortless looks. By making sportswear more affordable, versatile, and nuanced with style, this collaboration is catching the eye of all street fashion enthusiasts. This eccentric fusion of sophisticated fashion by Bing, rooted in Reebok’s rich vintage sports culture, is poised to find its abode at the pinnacle of the trend pyramid.

Another collection that taps into timeless essentials is the Rokh H&M collaboration, which is being lionized for its radical construction approach to all its designs. Rokh stands as the vanguard of the new wave of Korean designers, elaborating on conceptual but extremely wearable collections. One such tableau of adaptive wardrobe classics stands to rise from this London based brand, which is set to launch its milestone collection consisting of 58 pieces with the Swedish retail house on April 18.

The Korean brand has been feted for its complex tailoring, eccentric detailing, and layering techniques that transcend basic staples into pragmatic essentials. Designer Rokh Hwang has always found his inspiration in the everyday mundane—the real life and working situation of women who engage with life in full force. With that idea as an initiation point, Hwang revisited his archival signatures so as to produce a tweaked and twisted version of them for a larger contemporary audience.

Each piece in the collection is emblematic of the essence of the brand, laced with subversive details. Incorporated with elements like hook-and-eye details and adjustable fastenings, which allow the buyer to customize and rearrange the pieces as they desire, the collection invites its audiences to craft their own narratives and find expression through these pieces. Signature pieces include double-layered trenches that can be worn as single-layer trenches, detachable hem dresses with skirts adorned with fastenings that can be completely undone to transform a longer skirt into a mini, and corset-style pieces, all designed with flexibility in mind. The collection also features an array of printed florals in scoop-neck tops, maxi skirts, gloves, and stockings, perfect for the onset of summer. In addition to the apparels, this partnership encompasses refreshing accessories such as coordinated floral gloves and stockings, two-tone jewelry, clear heels, and a monogrammed briefcase.

In a world dominated by repetitive trend cycles, this collection will provide a respite for its audiences with adaptability and longevity embedded in all of its garments. The dynamic and playful collection, catering to both men and women, will attract audiences from all walks of life, thanks to its attainable price tags.
