Janhvi Kapoor made her Cannes debut this year to promote her film Homebound, and she did not disappoint. Each of her looks, curated by her cousin sister and stylist Rhea Kapoor, was a striking balance of heritage and haute couture. From the soft romance of a Tarun Tahiliani drape to the sculptural drama of Anamika Khanna, and the timeless elegance of vintage Dior, each look carried a story, rooted in nostalgia yet experimental and deeply personal. We've broken down each of her looks below. Take a look.
Bridal glamour in Tarun Tahiliani
For her first-ever Cannes red carpet, Kapoor turned to Tarun Tahiliani for a look that was equal parts traditional and dreamy. The outfit comprised a hand-crushed tissue skirt paired with a woven Benarasi corset, and Tarun Tahiliani's signature drape in a soft pink shade. She paired her look with layered pearls and soft pink makeup, somewhere between a bridal Pinterest board and a red carpet fantasy—and we loved that for her.
Dresses to impress in Anamika Khanna
Day two came with a whole new vibe. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor wore a custom Anamika Khanna look featuring a gold embroidered corset and a mint green skirt. But the real hero was the backless silhouette finished with a spine chain by Aurus Jewels. It was daring, sculptural, and super fresh—proof that Kapoor is not afraid to experiment, especially when there’s a story to tell through styling.
Old-school elegance in vintage Dior
For the press event for Homebound, which earned a nine-minute standing ovation, Kapoor went full old-Hollywood in a Dior haute couture gown from 1957—yes, vintage. The structured silhouette, the soft glamour, the subtle drama—it was pure cinema. This look felt like a full-circle moment—a quiet, powerful nod to everything she represents: tradition, transformation, and a touch of magic.
Channelling Sridevi in Di Petsa
To wrap up her Cannes run, Kapoor channelled Bollywood nostalgia in a Di Petsa saree that seemed to float like it had just stepped out of a slow-motion rain sequence (cue Sridevi in Mr. India). This one was truly special. With its wet-look draping, soft shimmer, and dripping Chopard jewellery, the entire outfit felt romantic and otherworldly. It was dramatic in the best way—and honestly, one of our favourites from her Cannes line-up.
