According to Delmonte, men are attracted to red nails because it reminds them of motherly figures and in turn, provides them with comfort. Red was known to be a colour chosen by older women, especially caretakers back in the '90s. Almost everyone has grown up seeing this fiery colour on at least one woman who portrays a mother-like figure in their lives.

Women all over TikTok have reported to have had multiple notorious encounters while wearing red nails. Some women claimed to have gotten compliments on their manicures by male figures, while others have coincidently gotten engaged. It all circles back to the Red Nail Theory and the nostalgic warm feeling men tend to be drawn to.
