Here is your ultimate makeup kit for the party season

From the bling of the eyeshadow, to the pop of lipstick colour, and a base that refuses to budge.

Harper's Bazaar India

We’re quickly approaching the second half of December, which means one thing—well, it means many, but we aren’t weighing you down with heavy talk of rewinds and resolutions with this read—anyway, getting back, as we were saying, it means one thing, party season! And we cannot stop planning for it to come (in case it hasn’t hit you already). All of which entails, apart from getting the outfit(s) just right for all times of the day and putting the plans in place, making sure we get our makeup just right.

Which brings us to this carefully put together, after much experimentation might we add, list that will take you from start-to-finish for a perfect look that does everything to make you shine.

Lancôme La Base Pro Flawless Foundation

What many of its users call “bomb”, this one is an ultra-soft, translucent makeup base that offers just the smoothening your skin wants to help boost the staying power of makeup without letting it cake up. Don’t be dissuaded by its thick gel consistency, it immediately melts into your skin and makes it just the kind of supple your winter self needs. And, a little goes a long way!

Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer

This 4-in-1 concealer may cover, contour, highlight, and retouch, but we cannot look past its primary goal—to conceal. If you’re one for the natural look, and hate the concealer build up, you definitely need this product in your makeup kit. And, unlike a lot of other concealers, this one does not dry you out, in fact, actually hydrates, making sure you can layer it up without fear of cracking.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Foundation

Speaking of natural looking makeup, nothing trumps this foundation. Offering medium coverage, this light-weight foundation can be built on without looking, at the cost of sounding repetitive, cakey. Add to that the many shades it offers and we have a clear winner. If we could warn you of one small thing, this one, like almost any other foundation, can be a little drying. But then, with our primer suggestion, you have nothing to worry about!

Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour

This one from the brand that is quintessential to chubby sticks is a no brainer.  Super creamy, this glides like butter on your skin, is easy to blend, and a little goes a long way. Sensitive skin friendly, and moisturising, it is also another product we recommend from our natural brigade. There is nothing like the chubby stick for all newbie contourers.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Rose Metals Palette

A new launch by the trusted brand, there is nothing that screams festive like this eyeshadow palette. With rich mattes and high-reflective shimmers—in shades that can hold appeal to everyone—this one is a perfect blend of ultra-glam nostalgia and classic style. Add to that their creamy, and, importantly for everything shimmer, its smudge-free formula, and this one is definitely a go-to for all parties, whether day or night.

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic

It is as if you just received the best compliment! Pigmented, buildable, and blendable—it is all you can want in a blush. It comes in various shades, and each has a centre shade that emphasises and colours the cheek, and the outer shade that contours and shapes them. Of course, you can also simply swirl it all around for a nice blush glow.

Chanel Poudre Lumière

Are you ready get your glow on with this highlighter! We know we weren’t for what it offered. This, more sparkly, option from Chanel is perfect for the festive season. Chanel describes this as an illuminating face powder that captures and reflects light for a sheer radiant finish. We may differ on it’s sheer quality, finding it fairly pigmented, but yes, a light brush can do the trick if you want to go subtle, and if not, well, this one delivers superbly on that too.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze

Finally! Something that helps the brow stay combed and perfect for hours and hours at end. This one was such a pleasant surprise, it may have just made 2022 absolutely worth it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

Could we talk brows and not say Anastasia Beverly Hills? The brand has perfected the brow game, in fact, it may be the reason we know that brow grooms are as important if not more to a makeup routine as is an eyeliner or a lipstick—and this one offers what many other in the market don’t, which is a smudge-resistant formula along with the staple ultra thin pencil that offers hair-like results.

M.A.C Lip Pencil

You may think you don’t need this one, but do you really want to let go of a chance of having full lips that hold the lipstick for longer? It’s creamy,  smooth, lasts a long time, and comes in all of M.A.C’s signature shades that pair perfectly with a range of lipstick colours. This one is for all those long nights of partying.

Dior Rouge

This one is definitely a lipstick aficionados pick. Deemed by many (and we agree) to be “the best lipstick out there”, it is soft, with a creamy-yet-not-thick formula that is ultra long lasting and sure to not dry your lips—thanks to its formula of hydrating peony extract. And, of course, there are plenty colours to choose from.
