The trends giving spring 2026 its fresh start

From breezy Bermuda shorts to fluid silk midi skirts and polished loafers, here’s everything your wardrobe needs this season.

Harper's Bazaar India

Spring fashion has always carried a sense of renewal, but for 2026, that refresh feels especially deliberate. The season leans into airy silhouettes, romantic details, and effortless tailoring. We’re talking silk midi skirts that sway with movement, crisp Bermuda shorts that balance 90s style with ease, and classic loafers that feel perfectly suited for warmer days.

According to celebrity stylist Eesha Amin, the mood of the season reflects a shift toward expressive yet refined dressing. “Silhouettes are moving toward sculptural volumes, fluid tailoring, and softened power dressing,” she says, noting that the energy of spring is less about rigid structure and more about clothes that move with the wearer. Prints, too, are evolving in a romantic direction. “We’re seeing reimagined florals, heritage checks, and abstract animal prints,” Amin adds—patterns that feel both nostalgic and modern.

For celebrity stylist Devki Bhatt, the season’s spirit is rooted in a deeper emotional shift within fashion. “I think we’re seeing a lot of loose, undone silhouettes—flowy, drapey shapes that feel easy and effortless,” she explains, pointing to the way designers are embracing movement and comfort on the runway. That sense of softness is part of a larger cultural moment, she adds. “We’re looking for a sense of introspection and softness, and fashion is reflecting that.”

Resulting in a spring wardrobe that feels relaxed, intentional, and where classic staples like loafers, silk skirts, and tailored shorts are reimagined through a lighter, more romantic lens.

Across runways and street style alike, five standout trends are shaping the season: Bermuda shorts, silk midi skirts, polished loafers, airy draped silhouettes, and romantic florals. Each piece offers a fresh way to approach spring dressing, balancing structure, softness, ease and elegance.
