Panerai’s latest collection raises the bar for luxury

The remarkable tale of Panerai’s legacy has its origins all the way back in 1860. It was the time when the founder Giovanni Panerai established the ‘Ponte alle Grazie’ that not only served as a watch shop and workshop but also the city’s first watchmaking school. For countless decades, they have supplied the Italian navy in general, its specialist diving corps in particular, going on to carve a niche of their own.

Panerai has, once again, taken the world of luxury by storm with its latest collection Luminor Due Tutto Oro, which features watches with gold bracelets, a first by the Italian luxury watch manufacturer.

The new timepieces are versatile and suit perfectly for any occasion—casual or formal. The Panerai heritage is evident in the watches’ see-through sapphire crystal case back with a polished bezel, which is secured by a safety lock crown protection device. Additionally, the polished strap has the OP logo engraved on it. 

Coming to what everyone’s talking about—the bracelet. You’ll see the importance that Panerai has given to design—while the rectangular segment of each link in the bracelet has a polished finish, the rounded areas display a brushed surface.

The watch, available in two colours—white and deep marine blue—has a stylish, very modern-looking display which features a white sun-brushed sandwich dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers (the date’s at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock). Don’t let its size fool you. Despite measuring only 4.2mm, this watch is the first of its size by Panerai to combine the date function and a three-day power reserve. 

These two new Panerai watches are powered by the automatic caliber P.900, which runs at a frequency of 28,800 alternations per hour. The refined timepiece is also water resistant to three bar (about 30 metres) and includes a tool to allow interchangeability of the bracelet.
