When you already are one of the world's most recognisable women, a billionaire, and a legacy reality star, why not also give acting a go? At least, that's the case for Kim Kardashian.

It was revealed that the business mogul would be starring in the 12th season of Ryan Murphy's cult favourite, campy series, American Horror Story, alongside actress Emma Roberts. Kardashian broke the news where else but on her Instagram where she shared a cryptic video teasing the series's upcoming season. She captioned the clip with just two emojis: two knowing eyes and a single drop of blood. Roberts also shared the news on her social channels writing, “This summer…Kim and I are DELICATE.”

“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” Murphy said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter regarding the major casting news. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role, especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

Unlike the other 11 seasons of American Horror Story, however, Murphy is basing this season on source material, per THR. The upcoming season is set to be based on Danielle Valentine's upcoming novel Delicate Condition, set to be released this August. Per the novel's publisher Sourcebooks Landmark, the story is a "gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens" and is being described as a "feminist update" to the classic thriller, Rosemary's Baby.

Kardashian isn't a total stranger to the scripted screen. She's made cameos in 2008's Disaster Movie as well as done voiceover work in the Paw Patrol films and even as a love interest in Fall Out Boy's 2007 music video for "Thnks fr th Mmrs". Delicate, however, is set to be her most high-profile acting role yet. Watch this space for updates.
