Delhi’s National Gallery of Modern Art was buzzing with energy, applause, and a whole lot of star power as the Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) Delhi Chapter hosted the Young Women Achievers Awards 2025. Under the leadership of Dr. Payal Kanodia, this wasn’t just another awards night—it was a celebration of women who are reshaping industries, breaking barriers, and proving that success has no limits.

Dr Kanodia, as the 21st Chairperson of YFLO Delhi, elevated women’s leadership and social impact by fostering transformative learning, global collaborations, and nationwide initiatives for empowerment. Through her theme, ‘Unleash: Mind | Body | Soul’, she integrated professional growth with cultural enrichment while championing projects that uplift marginalised women and children—cementing YFLO’s role as a catalyst for progress. This vision shaped every aspect of the year, culminating in a night that wasn’t just about recognition, but about redefining possibilities for women across India.

The theme, ‘Unleash: Mind | Body | Soul,’ set the tone for an evening that blended culture, conversation, and creativity. The legendary Shabana Azmi and poet-lyricist Javed Akhtar took the stage for a lively discussion with journalist Marya Shakil, diving into everything from gender equality to their journey as lifelong creative partners. Their words were a reminder that empowered women don’t just ask for change—they create it.

The performances were nothing short of magical. The world-renowned Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash brought their signature mix of tradition and innovation with a spellbinding jugalbandi, while Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej filled the air with music that didn’t just entertain—it inspired. His fusion of world sounds with Indian classical melodies was a musical love letter to environmental consciousness, proving that great art always carries a message.

For YFLO Delhi, this night was the grand finale of a year filled with impact. Dr Payal Kanodia reflected on how the organization’s 50+ initiatives in education, health, economic empowerment, and sustainability touched 1.8 million lives across India. The numbers were impressive, but the real achievement was the shift in mindset—more women stepping up, taking charge, and rewriting the rules.

At the heart of it all were the 21 exceptional women being honored, each a force in her own right. Bansuri Swaraj, Member of Parliament, was recognized for Public Service and took the moment to emphasize the power of Nari Shakti in building a developed India. She championed the government’s initiatives like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which will ensure 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies by 2029. Her message was clear: the future is female, and it’s already here.

Among the standout honorees were entrepreneur Devita Saraf, singer Harshdeep Kaur, actor Isha Talwar, social impact leader Kulsum Shadab Wahab, and Flt. Ltr. Urvashi Tomar, recognized for her service to the nation. The evening also paid tribute to iconic artists Arpana Caur, Madhavi Parekh, and Anjoli Ela Menon, whose work has shaped India’s artistic landscape for generations.

As the night came to a close, one thing was obvious—this wasn’t just an event, it was a movement. A celebration of women who refuse to be defined by limits, who are bold enough to dream and brave enough to chase those dreams. ‘Unleash’ wasn’t just a theme, it was a call to action. And judging by the unstoppable energy in the room, the women of India are more than ready to answer it.
