9 memorable moments from 'Koffee with Karan' season 7 that we can’t stop thinking about!

From ex-slamming to sex advices to vulnerable confessions—this season packed in quite a punch and much more.

Harper's Bazaar India

The seventh season of our favourite guilty-pleasure, Koffee with Karan, just aired its finale—with Tanmay Bhat, Kusha Kapila, Niharika NM, and Danish Sait acting as juries for the ‘Koffee awards’ this season. Sait described the show best by comparing it to a ‘butt-crack’—“You know you shouldn’t see it but you keep looking at it.” It was an entertaining episode where the jury threw a bunch of accusations towards Karan—like questioning him about his obsession with Alia Bhatt, his partiality towards Janhvi Kapoor over Sara Ali Khan, and more.

From admitting to having a ‘massive crush’ on an actor to he’s a ‘lights-off’ kinda guy, KJo was seen at his candid best. For the fans of the show, he even promised that the eighth season would be back pretty soon. As we bid adieu to another season of fun, frolic, and scandal—let’s take a look at our top 10 favourite, handpicked moments.

Alia Bhatt got it wrong in the quiz... yet again!

During the game round, Alia Bhatt was asked to speak on ‘my marriage’ for 30 seconds and she took off with a, “The day Karan will get married, I’ll be so happy...,” before realising that she was supposed to talk about her own marriage with Ranbir Kapoor instead. A laughing fit ensued!

When Sara Ali Khan took potshots at her ex

There were some subtle burns directed towards a certain ex of Sara Ali Khan. After revealing that she would like to date South superstar Vijay Deverakonda, she told Karan, “You ask him na, it worked the last time,” hinting at her mention of wanting to date Kartik Aaryan in the last season of the show. Furthermore, when asked why her ex is her ex, Sara said, “Because he’s everyone’s ex,” taking a not-so-subtle dig at her alleged relationship with Aaryan.

Hilarious faux-pas and witty digs

Samantha Prabhu delivered one of the best lines of the season when she accused the host for being the reason behind ‘unhappy marriages’. “You have portrayed life as K3G (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham), whereas in fact, life is K.G.F (a Kannada-language action film),” she said. Now, isn’t that witty?

During the rapid fire round, her co-guest Akshay Kumar was asked about that one thing Bollywood is obsessed with that he doesn’t approve of, without missing a beat he said, “fillers.” Only to realise that he meant to say ‘filters.’ Even though it was a honest mistake, it was hilarious.

The ultimate mimicry king

Ranveer Singh stole the show with his spotless mimicry of actors like Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan. We rolled off our couches watching him mimic Varun Dhawan coming out of the gym and Kartik Aaryan’s ‘pap face’. Genius!

Anil Kapoor got candid about his sex-life

When Karan asked Anil Kapoor, “You don’t listen to Dhina Dhin Dha? (Kapoor’s popular song from the film Ram Lakhan)?” during lovemaking, Kapoor said, “I don’t listen. I do it.” His straight-faced quick answer got the host and co-guest Varun Dhawan rolling.

Kiara Advani's cute secret

Kiara Advani and Shahid Kapoor, the hit pair from the film Kabir Singh, gave off really cute BFF vibes on the couch. During the rapid fire round, when Kiara was asked what’s that one word that comes to her mind when she hears of Shahid, she said, “Preeti” (her character’s name in Kabir Singh). She revealed that Shahid calls her up and says “Preeti” in signature Kabir Singh style before continuing with the rest of the conversation. Cute.

When Tiger Shroff eyed everyone’s wives

Tiger Shroff is always the reserved, soft-spoken one. So it was quite refreshing (and surprising) to see him come to the rapid fire round all guns blazing. When he was asked for the one thing he envies Ranveer Singh for, he was quick to say, “His wife. She’s very pretty.” And, Ranbir Kapoor? “His wife. She’s very talented and pretty,” he smirked.

Mr. Vulnerable and Mrs. Goofy spilled the beans

Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor made for a fun duo on the couch. But they were also extremely candid about their personal struggles. Arjun openly spoke about his stress-eating and eventually his massive weight transformation. “It all started from Ma (talking about his mother Mona Kapoor’s death in 2012) and then it just spiraled,” said Arjun in a tender, vulnerable moment. His sister Sonam added, “There has not been a time when his personal life hasn’t been hard. All three of us (Sonam, Arjun, and Karan) have had issues when it comes to our weights, food, etc. That comes from an emotional place, always. When you are going through those ups and downs, you kind of take solace in food, like ‘Let me just have this packet of chips.’ It’s emotional eating.” It was refreshing to see Bollywood stars being vulnerable on camera.

While Arjun was showing his tender side, Sonam was her usual goofy self. Add pregnancy hormones to the mix and it was a hilarious cocktail. When she was quizzed about the name of Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film, Brahmāstra: Part One–Shiva, she forgot the name completely and called it Shiva No.1 instead. “It’s not made by David Dhawan!” gasped Karan (who’s also the producer of Brahmastra). “And it doesn’t star Varun Dhawan,” added her co-guest Arjun Kapoor.

When Katrina Kaif taught us about 'suhaag din'

Earlier in the season, newlywed Alia Bhatt had dismissed the concept of a 'suhaag raat' as a myth because according to her everyone gets exhausted after all the marriage rituals. When Karan brought that up in front of another newlywed, Katrina Kaif, she was quick to chirp, “It does not always have to be a suhaag raat. It can also be a suhaag din." Ahem, you go, girl!
