Inside Villa Cosy: The Saint-Tropez hotel redefining quiet luxury

With private terraces, bespoke dining, an impressive art collection, and one of the largest suites in Saint-Tropez, Villa Cosy proves that true luxury lies in privacy, space, and understated elegance.

There is a particular kind of traveller who has seen it all—the grandeur and the theatre—and has simply grown tired of it. The kind of traveller who has resided in the grandest hotels, dined at the most famous tables, and watched sunsets from every celebrated terrace, only to realise that the loudest room is rarely the most memorable.

For the traveller who finds true luxury in space, silence, and privacy, perhaps a stay at Villa Cosy, a respite amidst Saint-Tropez’s bustling tourist life, would provide the experience they are in search of. Luxury here extends beyond aesthetics. Villa Cosy’s philosophy embraces a quieter form of sustainability, from its estate vineyard and seasonal menus to an emphasis on longevity
over excess.

Discreetly positioned a short stroll from the Place des Lices, Villa Cosy is a five-star boutique hotel that operates on a philosophy that sets it apart in one of the world’s most performative tourist destinations. The hotel quietly reinstates the idea that the best kind of hospitality should feel personal, unhurried, and without excessive theatre—all while being moments away from the town’s best selection of beaches, restaurants, boutiques, and nightlife.

With just 25 rooms and suites, each opening to a private terrace, Villa Cosy offers a unique perspective on luxury, one that doesn’t aim to dazzle you at every step but allows guests to breathe, settle in, and feel less like hotel patrons than temporary residents. In fact, the hotel’s Riviera Suite—at a sprawling 120 square metres—is one of the largest in Saint-Tropez and is designed around the idea that space and privacy are luxury’s rarest indulgences. The hotel also provides an option of lodging at a private villa accommodating up to 14 guests with a private pool, sauna, gym, and a dedicated butler and housekeeper.

Villa Cosy

What separates Villa Cosy from traditional luxury hotels is its extensive private art collection. The hotel has spent years curating it, and the result is an interior that is as unique as it is breathtaking. Works by internationally acclaimed artists, including Richard Orlinski, Rubinstein, Joseph Klibansky, and Yaniv Edery, share space with original furniture by Charlotte Perriand, Charles and Ray Eames, Le Corbusier, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, and Eero Saarinen. Nothing feels merely ornamental here; rather, they are intentional and follow a vision. As an establishment that aims to constantly improve and further refine itself, Villa Cosy has recently enlisted François Vieillecroze—the architect behind some of the Côte d’Azur’s most celebrated addresses, including Lou Pinet and Cheval Blanc Saint-Tropez—to further refine the estate’s design direction. Elevating without erasing, Vieillecroze has deepened the property’s Riviera sensibility while protecting the warmth and intimacy that make it stand apart.

The hotel also offers a dining experience that alone would justify the stay. Bespoke menus created entirely around every guest’s preferences are served exclusively to residents. With no restaurants open to outsiders or shared reservations, the hotel provides an exclusive experience to in-house guests. Beyond this, the property houses a private vineyard located at the heart of the estate that produces red wine served only on the property. It is another expression of the property’s deeply personal approach. The wine cellar extends the experience further, with over 1,000 bottles available.

From Grands Crus, local nectars, and over 30 champagnes, Villa Cosy gives you a diverse selection of wine available for private tastings or guided exploration with the hotel’s sommelier. The Cosy Bar, on the other hand, provides the perfect atmosphere expected of a hotel bar—private, an impressive cocktail list, and an ambience that actually makes you want to linger.

Completing the experience are the Spa by Sothys, the heated outdoor pool, the Zen terrace with its sparkling hot tub, and a 24-hour concierge. Spa by Sothys, in particular, provides an immersive sensory experience that combines innovation and comfort to cater to every guest.
