Why studded bags are suddenly everywhere
Alexa Chung and Bella Hadid have both been spotted carrying the style—and they’re not the only ones.

Studded bags can quickly serve up high-fashion rock ’n’ roll just as easily as a laid-back bohemian look. It’s this versatility that makes them a must-have accessory for summer—and fashion’s It girls Alexa Chung and Bella Hadid seem to agree.
Both models have been spotted carrying the Valentino Garavani Nellcôte tote, a studded suede shopper that made its debut on the runway last fall. Featuring a generous interior compartment that can easily fit a laptop, spare sweater, and travel essentials, it’s quickly shaping up to be a favourite from Alessandro Michele’s third collection for the brand.
On the spring/summer 2025 runways, there were plenty more studded bags to be found with billowy blouses and ankle-length sheaths. Continuing the success of its Elena bag, Khaite presented a large leather tote bag covered in metal grommets, while Isabel Marant leaned further into the brand’s bohemian DNA with suede crossbody bags covered in studs and lined with fringe.
During a dinner turned presentation, Eckhaus Latta gave a sneak peek at its inaugural bag, the Snap, which features uniform metal snaps along the handle that double as a functional closure. The unfussy, laid-back vibes of the Snap call to mind Gimaguas’s Franca bag, which had a buzzy moment last year (in part fueled by celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski) and has since inspired several imitations.
Whether you’re looking to embrace the indie sleaze revival with a slouchy striped shirt layered over low-slung bootcut jeans or want to add some boho edge to a shimmery, barely there slip, studded bags are an easy way to achieve the look.
