Swarovski’s 'Masters of Light – Hollywood' exhibition brings fashion, pop culture, and Hollywood glamour together by placing Christian Dior, Harry Styles, and Kim Kardashian in one room
A glittering celebration of Swarovski’s 130 years!

It was a night where nostalgia met neon, and Hollywood’s brightest stars glimmered in 130 years of Swarovski’s legacy. The Austrian House’s landmark exhibition, Masters of Light—Hollywood, transformed Los Angeles’ iconic Amoeba Music venue into a living chronicle of crystal craft, culture, and celebrity. Conceived by Swarovski’s global creative director, Giovanna Engelbert, and curated by fashion journalist Alexander Fury, the exhibition celebrated a century and more of design ingenuity, theatrical sparkle, and the brand’s timeless relationship with fashion and film.
Since its founding in 1895, Swarovski has stood as a synonym for light—capturing, refracting, and reimagining it in countless creative forms. Masters of Light – Hollywood was a vivid reminder of that legacy, unfolding like a cinematic reel across time. The exhibition traced the brand’s journey through the glamour of classic cinema, the energy of pop culture, and the allure of modern artistry. At the heart of it all lay Swarovski’s power to make moments iconic.
From Marilyn Monroe’s glittering gown—the one she wore while serenading President John F Kennedy—to the crystal-embellished costumes of Beyoncé, Madonna, and Lady Gaga, the exhibition celebrated performance as a form of transformation. Every facet shimmered with a sense of storytelling—from the stage to the red carpet. Fashion and film intertwined effortlessly in Silver Screen Style, where Swarovski’s collaborations with Hollywood’s leading designers came alive.
The Pop Icons chamber, meanwhile, was an ode to the brand’s impact on music, featuring bedazzled ensembles that turned concerts into cultural events. Mathemagical, another key section, spotlighted the precision and technical artistry that make Swarovski’s creations more than just adornments—they’re feats of design engineering.
Under Engelbert’s creative lens, the exhibition also bridged past and present. By pairing Swarovski’s famed crystal figurines of Disney and Marvel characters with couture craftsmanship, she showcased how pop culture and luxury can harmonise in playful sophistication. The brand’s ongoing collaborations with the worlds of film, fashion, and fantasy stood as testaments to its evolving identity—one that honours heritage while embracing innovation. To mark the milestone, Swarovski even ventured into the city’s lifestyle pulse with a limited-edition Erewhon pop-up, where crystal-inspired creations met cult Los Angeles cool. A portion of the exhibition’s proceeds supported baby2baby, underscoring Swarovski’s long-standing commitment to community and sustainability.
Swarovski’s ambassador and Indian actor, Rashmika Mandanna, lit up Los Angeles with her signature charm at the exhibition’s opening night. Dressed in a pink corset and black skirt adorned with crystals, she shimmered in sync with the House’s iconic brilliance—a perfect reflection of Swarovski’s ethos of individuality, joy, and creative expression.
As Hollywood’s finest—from Cher and Viola Davis to Emily Ratajkowski—gathered under the glittering lights, Masters of Light—Hollywood became more than an exhibition. It was a love letter to expression, creativity, and the enduring magic of adornment. For 130 years, Swarovski has been transforming crystal into culture and confidence, and in Los Angeles, it reminded the world that brilliance—in every form— never goes out of style.
