Here’s a look at the key fashion and design highlights making waves this month.

Sahil Aneja opens doors in New Delhi

On September 5, designer Sahil Aneja unveiled his new store in Defence Colony, New Delhi. Envisioned as a space that balances minimalism with understated luxury, the store offers a serene environment where natural elements meet carefully considered details. It reflects Aneja’s ethos of slow fashion and craftsmanship, creating a setting that feels as thoughtfully designed as the garments it houses.

FAD showcases the future at Dubai Fashion Week

The FAD Institute of Luxury, Fashion & Style presented over 20 emerging designers at Dubai Fashion Week on September 5. Their SS26 showcase featured an experimental mix of tailoring, layering, and textile manipulation, with inspiration ranging from heritage to surrealism. The show culminated in awards across creativity, innovation, and commercial viability, judged by leaders from global luxury houses. With campuses in Dubai, Mumbai, and Pune, FAD continues to cement its role as a platform that prepares young designers for the international stage while celebrating originality and forward-thinking design.

Lovebirds introduces Homecoming

Lovebirds marked the season with Homecoming, a festive collection created exclusively for the Indian market. Rooted in the emotions of nostalgia, warmth, and togetherness, the edit champions effortless silhouettes with a contemporary edge. Sculptural tube dresses, asymmetric skirts, and sharply cut jackets stand out in rich fabrics like silk, taffeta, and organza. The palette ranges from mustard and cobalt to aubergine and playful polka dots, accented with beadwork and sequins that shimmer softly. The result is a collection that captures the spirit of celebration while staying modern and wearable.

Krésha Bajaj debuts at Dubai Fashion Week

Marking a new milestone, Krésha Bajaj presented her first international runway showcase at Dubai Fashion Week. Titled The Archive of Hidden Things, the collection merged surreal layering, corsetry, and strong tailoring with her signature storytelling. Divided into three chapters—revelation, obsession, and liberation—the line explored intimacy, concealment, and expression through intricate detailing, shifting palettes, and sculptural forms. While firmly ready-to-wear, the pieces carried couture-level craftsmanship, underscoring Bajaj’s vision of sustainable, small-run production that values meaning and longevity.

Almost Gods collaborates with Fila

Pushing the boundaries of sportswear, Delhi-based label Almost Gods unveiled its collaboration with Fila on September 12. The capsule collection draws on the imagery of an imagined, rugged landscape, translating elemental tones of ash, oxidised red, and iron into athletic forms. Pieces like the Wind Reaver Settanta Jacket and Snare Track Pants fuse Fila’s heritage with Almost Gods’ conceptual edge, offering designs that feel at once utilitarian and ritualistic. The collaboration embodies a cross-cultural dialogue where performance wear becomes a canvas for storytelling.

JJ Valaya returns to Mumbai

After 24 years, JJ Valaya makes a momentous comeback to Mumbai with the launch of two flagship stores at the city’s newest luxury destination, Jio World Plaza. The evening marks the unveiling of JJ Valaya Couture alongside JJV Kapurthala, the designer’s luxury prêt label. The showcase, titled The Art of Valaya Illustrations, highlights the genesis of his couture journey, underscoring how every creation begins with the stroke of an illustration

Obeetee launches Viraasat for Diwali

This festive season, Obeetee unveils Viraasat, a collection of handwoven rugs created in collaboration with iconic designers including Tarun Tahiliani, Anju Modi, Ashdeen Z Lilaowala, and Anita Dalmia. Each piece draws on India’s cultural richness—from Kashidakari and Pichwai-inspired motifs to Parsi Gara with Chinoiserie influences and Vrindavan-inspired landscapes. More than carpets, these rugs are imagined as sanctuaries of tradition where families gather, rituals unfold, and memories take root. With its enduring craftsmanship and design legacy spanning over a century, Obeetee continues to bring heritage into modern homes, offering pieces that are as timeless as they are festive.

klove Studio returns to India Design ID

At India Design ID in Mumbai, klove Studio and collektklove presented zzz a chandelier inspired by the month’s sense of ceremony and transformation, alongside a festive Diwali edit of collectable objects. The sculptural glasswork reflected the theme of design syncretism, merging craft traditions with modern design language. Marking 20 years of the studio, the showcase was both a milestone and a renewal, highlighting the brand’s commitment to creating lighting and objects that carry memory, poetry, and Indian craftsmanship into contemporary homes.

As September draws to a close, the creative landscape across fashion and design has shown its strength in both innovation and heritage. From new stores and festive collections in India to global collaborations and international runway debuts, this season is a reminder of how dynamic and diverse the industry continues to be. The dialogue between past and present, tradition and modernity, is what keeps fashion’s story moving forward—and this month was proof of exactly that.
