Harper's Bazaar LuXperiences returned for a grand third edition. It brought the creme de la creme of the fashion industry—from Amit Aggarwal, Rahul Mishra, Kartik Kumra of Kartik Research to legends Anamika Khanna and Giambatista Valli. Amid these industry heavyweights, Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor also appeared for a candid conversation on the inseparability of fashion and films. Moderated by Sonal Ved, group digital editor, lifestyle division at the India Today Group, the fireside chat touched upon Kapoor's film journey, his fashion choices, growing up with sisters, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Rhea Kapoor, Jhanvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, and now Shanaya Kapoor, who have been acing fashion game for decades, and much more.

"I have to say Delhi fashion is amazing, but I am partial to Mumbai fashion, because I dress like a Mumbaikar. I am either James Bond or a vagabond; there's no in-between," Kapoor began the conversation with a big bang.

Soon, he delved into the nuances of how fashion and film intersect in men's fashion. The Ishqzaade star explained that men have recently become more comfortable experimenting with fashion. He spoke about how Ranveer Singh and Diljit Dosanjh have changed the outlook from reel to real life.

In conversation with Ved, Kapoor discussed why actors need to be invested in the clothes they will be wearing as their character. Sharing an anecdote from his film Finding Fanny, Kapoor said that stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania had given him a new pair of jeans and instructed him to make them look lived-in. Those jeans became a part of his character. He also got into the details of dressing up for various characters he has played and how those choices dictated how audiences perceived the story.

He also spoke about how being part of the 'First Fashion Family of Bollywood' shaped his outlook on style. "It put a lot of pressure on me when you have Sonam Kapoor as your sister. She's the torchbearer and a benchmark of a lot of conversations that started internationally and domestically when it came to fashion. What Sonam made me realise is fittings, tailoring, valuing designers, taking chances, experimenting, all these things pay off because you learn about how you can carry yourself."

When asked about who among his sisters he would choose to style him, came a prompt response: "Our entire family trusts Rhea (Kapoor). There is nobody else."

All in all, the conversation made one understand the sophistication that goes into building a character's layers. It also highlights how the line between reel and real fashion for menswear is blurring, as equal thought is given to both.
