Celebrate the journey of love with this innovative offering from Tanishq—The Soulmate Diamond Pair, crafted from a single rare diamond
The limited-edition Soulmate Diamond Pair is a rare and treasured celebration of the special bonds in your life.

Relationships—romantic and platonic—are an extension of you. They shape, influence, and nurture the person you are. Each of these bonds—whether with your best friend, partner, or parent—is unique and special in its own way, requiring care to grow stronger. While saying ‘I love you’ often, spending time together, or bringing home their favourite treats (to name a few) are meaningful ways to express love, a grand gesture or a special gift is always welcome.
And what could be better than gifting something that has been in the making for over a billion years? No, we are not exaggerating.
Indian jewellery brand Tanishq, under Titan Company, in collaboration with DeBeers Group, has introduced its limited-edition The Soulmate Diamond Pair range, where a single original diamond, formed over a billion years, is beautifully crafted into couple rings for engagement, symbolising an everlasting connection. These rare diamonds, which have journeyed together through time, serve as a timeless expression of love—one that carries a shared history from the past and a lasting connection into the future. This makes for one of the most unique and meaningful tokens of love.
Harper’s Bazaar India caught up with Mr Arun Narayan, VP Marketing & Retail Tanishq, Titan Company Ltd., to dive into the inspiration and craftsmanship behind this collection of real diamond engagement rings.
Harper’s Bazaar: The Tanishq Soulmate Diamond Pair rings, a first-of-its-kind original and unique jewellery collection, are crafted from a single rare diamond. What inspired the launch, and how does it introduce a new way of symbolising relationships?
Arun Narayan: Over the past many years, the focus of brand Tanishq has been on product innovation. Every Diwali, we introduce special collections in gold, and in recent years, we have expanded into real diamond jewellery, offering exquisite and meaningful pieces. In April 2023, we launched the Celeste collection, created using unique nano-faceted technology to lend solitaires the best light performance. Since then, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of innovation in the natural diamond engagement ring segment.
We always wanted to celebrate original diamonds and solitaires in a grander and more meaningful way. This year, that vision has come to life. Forty pieces from our top-of-the-line collection were showcased at New York Fashion Week 2025, in an exclusive collaboration with designer Bibhu Mohapatra.
Most of our collections are inspired by history, royalty, or nature. However, this time, we felt that the purity of diamonds should be the inspiration itself. Diamonds are over a billion years old, making them the oldest objects we touch in our lifetime—something truly worth celebrating. That is how the journey of the Soulmate Diamond Pair began.
The second aspect is that while gold remains a storehouse of value, real diamonds carry both value and deep emotion. Diamonds have long been cherished and romanticised, making them an ideal symbol of love and commitment.
So, we decided to craft a never-before-seen concept in the world of natural diamonds engagement rings—one that embodies treasured relationships. The Soulmate Diamond Pair features engagement rare and original jewellery, with couple rare rings made from the same rough diamond. This limited collection comprises about 20 designs of different carats, with prices ranging from just under a lakh to about three lakhs.
HB: How was this concept turned into reality? What were the key considerations in bringing this idea to life, and how was it received?
AN: It has been a journey of a couple of years. We first ensured a sustainable supply chain of diamonds sourced from the same original diamond. Then, we moved on to design. We conducted a pilot run in about 24 stores for a limited period to understand consumer response.
As anticipated, many couples valued the idea and felt that it would make for a truly special real diamond engagement ring—perfect for engagements or marking significant milestones in a relationship. What pleasantly surprised us was how the collection resonated beyond couples. For instance, a mother and daughter purchased the Soulmate Diamond Pair to celebrate their bond, making this an even more meaningful offering.
With its billion-year journey, the Soulmate Diamond Pair feels like invoking the blessings of time itself—an eternal symbol of love meant to be cherished for a lifetime.
HB: Tanishq is known for concept-driven jewellery design through innovation. How does the Soulmate Diamond Pair embody this philosophy?
AN: Diamonds serve as a powerful medium of self-expression. While gold carries deep cultural, community, and traditional significance, real diamonds offer personal meaning, with no fixed codes or myths. The wearer sets the story, making the possibilities for innovation and original and unique jewellery endless.
At Tanishq, we place our customers at the heart of our creations. With every collection, we aim to tell a story—creating opportunities for people to express their individuality, whether for a special occasion or simply as a reflection of their personality.
The Soulmate Diamond Pair is all about togetherness—celebrating relationships with something as rare and meaningful as couple rings for engagement crafted from the same natural diamond.
HB: How do you communicate the significance of this collection to the audience?
AN: We are fortunate to have our own stores, allowing us to directly engage with millions of customers through curated events and storytelling across various platforms. Whether through media campaigns, customer testimonials, or in-store experiences, we continuously build a connection between our products and their deeper meaning.
HB: What are some key trends among young buyers in the real diamond engagement ring space?
AN: Interest in natural diamonds engagement rings is rising across demographics, from first-time buyers to seasoned collectors. Accessibility plays a role, with prices starting as low as ₹15,000.
The typical diamond-buying journey begins with classic round-cut solitaires, with customers later exploring fancy shapes, larger carats, or unique cuts. As a brand, we see this as a continuous opportunity for innovation—offering new styles that cater to evolving tastes.
HB: What were the key learnings from the pilot launch of the Soulmate Diamond Pair?
AN: Firstly, women across India—whether from metropolitan areas or smaller cities—demonstrate a deep appreciation for original and unique jewellery. They understand the craftsmanship, heritage, and significance behind every design.
Previously, price was often the primary focus in jewellery conversations. Today, however, more customers ask about design, uniqueness, and meaning, which is a testament to their evolving preferences.
HB: Beyond design, what other trends have you observed among young diamond buyers?
AN: There is an increasing curiosity about the origins of real diamonds—how they are sourced, crafted, and responsibly obtained. Ethical sourcing and sustainability have become top considerations, and Tanishq has always prioritised responsible sourcing long before it became a global talking point.
The modern consumer values brands that not only offer high-quality products but also uphold integrity in business practices. This shift aligns with our commitment to transparency, ethical craftsmanship, and sustainability, which have always been at the core of Tanishq’s philosophy.
