#JustIn: Backstreet Boys will perform in India after 13 years
Backstreet’s back, alright!

I belong to that neither-here-nor-there generation; I’m neither the stereotypical post-2000s kid nor the-everyone’s-favourite ‘90s baby. I ’d like to think I bring a perfectly mixed bag to the table—the pop culture of the ‘90s with a bit of Y2K vibe. My earliest memory of listening to the iconic boy band Backstreet Boys is listening to Quit Playing Games on loop on my parents’ car’s stereo. At the time, I didn’t know the phenomenon that they were (and will continue to be).
Twelve years later, when I was a student at St Xavier’s College, the band made its way back into the pop-cultural narrative through the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I Want it That Way became the anthem—college fests, farewells, and reunions always called for the song to be played, with friends singing along as loudly as they possibly could, filling everyone’s hearts with nostalgia and warmth.
And now, the band is ready to set the stage on fire again. To celebrate 30 years of their journey together, the band will perform in countries across the globe, including India, where it will return after 13 years on its DNA World Tour. We don’t know about you, but we (my parents and I) can hardly wait to see their killer dance moves, iconic outfits, and pitch-perfect vocals.
“Everybody, yeah
Rock your body, yeah
Everybody, yeah
Rock your body right
Backstreet's back, alright!”
With this and many other iconic songs, the band will transport its audiences into the magical world of their music—bringing alive every fibre of love in every body. AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, and Kevin Richardson will step onto the stage to give you the performance and experience of a lifetime.
The band will perform songs from their Grammy-nominated 10th studio album ‘DNA’ and other classics, including As Long as You Love Me, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, and more. For the India leg of the tour, BookMyShow, together with Live Nation, will bring the band to Mumbai on May 4 at the Jio World Gardens and at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on May 5.
Here’s to a night of nostalgic music and synchronised dancing! Ticket sales are now live and can be purchased here.
