Gauri Khan unveils her exclusive, appointment-only immersive space, Delhi Experience Centre
In an exclusive Harper’s Bazaar India interview, the renowned interior designer shares insights into her space that redefines luxury living and feels just like home.

Gauri Khan, one of the most renowned names in Indian interior design, has unveiled her highly anticipated Delhi Experience Centre. This exclusive, appointment-only space reimagines retail through the lens of curated living. Located in the heart of the capital, the Centre offers a seamless blend of glamour, comfort, and customisation, showcasing Khan’s complete furniture line alongside curated artworks and private design consultations.
In an exclusive interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, Khan speaks about the vision behind the space, her evolving design philosophy, and why luxury should always feel personal.
Harper’s Bazaar India: What inspired the design direction of the luxury experience store, and how does it reflect your evolution as a designer?
Gauri Khan: I envisioned a space that felt like home, but elevated—a place where luxury didn’t feel distant or cold, but warm, tactile, and deeply personal. I wanted every corner to whisper elegance, and every texture to tell a story. It’s not a showroom; it's a living, breathing embodiment of my design philosophy.
HB: The space is curated to feel like a home—what emotions or moods were you hoping to evoke for visitors walking through it?
GK: Modern serenity. The space feels calm yet dramatic, curated yet fluid, layered with soft textures, sculptural forms, and a neutral palette with unexpected accents.
HB: How important is customisation in your design philosophy, and how does this new space enable clients to engage with that process?
GK: Customisation is key to luxury design. That’s why this space is so important to me. The by-appointment-only philosophy ensures clients have ample time for inspiration, personal consults, and in-depth ideation on what their dream homes will look like.
HB: You've worked with both celebrities and private clients—how do you approach the balance between luxury and personal comfort in your designs?
GK: I love luxury, but I also love functionality. There must be a healthy mix of both in all my designs for a project to be truly successful.
HB: Can you share a favourite corner or piece from the Experience Centre—and the story behind it?
GK: There’s a sculptural console with a fluid marble-and-metal silhouette that I think is very reflective of my style. It blends form and function, makes a statement without shouting, and adds an element of quiet drama to the room. It’s bold, artistic, and yet grounded, much like the design language I strive for.
