Get ready for 'Mayhem'.

After teasing the news through a quiet revamp of her website and a subsequent series of billboards that popped up overnight in New York City and Las Vegas, Lady Gaga officially announced the release of her seventh studio album with an Instagram Reel posted on January 27. The record, titled 'Mayhem', will drop this spring. Ahead, we break down everything to know about the project, from the tracklist to Gaga’s creative process.

Mayhem is due out in March

'Mayhem' will officially drop on March 7 via Interscope Records. The album is already available for pre-order here.

The album will feature 14 tracks

'Mayhem' is expected to feature 14 songs, including previously released hit singles “Disease” and “Die With a Smile”, the latter of which she collaborated on with Bruno Mars.

The album’s third single and music video will drop this Sunday, February 2, in a commercial break during the 2025 Grammy Awards ceremony. (This year, Gaga and Mars' “Die With a Smile” has been nominated in two categories: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Song of the Year.)

Mayhem is Gaga’s long-awaited return to pop

Gaga’s seventh album probes her pop roots, reworking the signature sound that fans know and love her for with a new lens that embraces chaos and change.

“The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” Gaga explained in a statement. She described her creative process on 'Mayhem' as “reassembling a shattered mirror: Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”

Her fiancé is an executive producer

Michael Polansky, a philanthropic entrepreneur and Gaga’s longtime partner, served as an executive producer on 'Mayhem', alongside Gaga herself and Andrew Watt, according to a press release. Other producers credited on the record include Cirkut and Gesaffelstein.
